Mental health in the digital age - our research
Many people are worried that the internet is having a negative impact on children’s mental health. Some reports claim that social media is making young people depressed and insecure; others say harmful pro-anorexia sites may be fuelling eating disorders.
In our work, though, we’ve heard just as much about supportive online communities where young people can go in times of crisis. What effect, if any, is the internet having on young people’s emotional wellbeing?
Parent Zone has conducted original research with schools and young people aged 13-20, to be presented at a half-day briefing on 17 March. Booking for the briefing is closed, but we may be able to make some additional places available on a first come, first serve basis closer to the event. To add your name to the waiting list, or to sign up to receive a summary of the day, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
