Vacancy: Policy Intern (paid)

About Parent Zone

Parent Zone is an expert consultancy in digital family life, responding to the global challenges of the digital age. Our evidence-based, expert training and content speaks to parents, children and young people about staying safe and well in a connected world, and covers everything from body image and self-esteem to critical thinking skills and online radicalisation. We co-chair the Digital Resilience working group and lead the conversation about connected families and young people.  We are growing rapidly and are looking for an important new team member to play a crucial part in delivering a number of busy, ambitious projects.

The role - Policy Intern

We're looking for someone bright and driven to join our expanding policy and partnerships team. The team works on projects at the intersection of tech and civil society, responding to one of the most challenging and interesting questions we currently face - how do we ensure that children and young people can thrive online?

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who is keen to learn how a policy team works. You’ll be an excellent team player willing to undertake basic admin tasks diligently and with a keen eye for detail. You’ll be able to understand the context of your work and be confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders including MPs and clients. Above all, you will be keen to learn and work hard and willing to help with whatever comes your way.

Responsibilities

  • Admin support for multiple large scale policy projects

  • Maintenance of records including databases

  • Support for colleagues in the policy team

  • Contribution of ideas and insights

  • Attendance at events and ability to represent Parent Zone

  • Collaboration with other Parent Zone teams

Attributes we value

Collaborative. Curious. Adaptive. Candid. Principled. Driven.

We’re based in Angel, a minute’s walk from Upper Street and twenty from Shoreditch and Kings Cross. We like fun and hard work, and we’re growing fast. If this sounds like your cup of tea and you’re looking for your first step on the policy ladder, send your CV to recruitment@parentzone.org.uk by 20th February 2019.

Parent Zone is proud to pay their interns the London Living Wage (£18,000 per annum).
