At Parent Zone, we know the digital world offers enormous opportunities to children – but also poses huge challenges. Never has this been clearer than in the last two years.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, the world changed. All of us experienced an upsurge in our digital interactions and reliance on life online.
Tech allowed us to continue to work, learn, socialise and interact: it became a lifeline. But it became a barrier, too.
We are proud of the diverse ways we work with our partners to connect with parents, families and those who support them, from engaging school assemblies to training the professionals families turn to and rely on. But like so many organisations, these vital, in-person interactions were cut off overnight.
We still had a job to do: to help children be secure, resilient and face a digital future with confidence. With families more reliant on tech than before, that work was even more important.
We wanted to understand the difference we really made to families over the past 24 months. This included being able to:
- reach over 2 million children and parents, to talk about online safety and digital wellbeing.
- train and upskill over 1,500 professionals and teachers around online safety and digital resilience.
- help hundreds of families feel more confident in talking to each other around tech.
This is why our partnerships are so important, and something for us to be proud of.
Collaborating means we can create the best online world for young people: working with those who care about children’s futures and who have the power to change them.
