Online courses for Digital Resilience members
As a Digital Resilience member (formerly known as Digital Safety member) you have access to a number of online courses created to help families support children and young people meet the challenges of the internet age.
Two are for you to share with the parents you work with, allowing them free access to both courses via a special code. We will send you a guide explaining how to do so.
Parents can access both courses here.
We have also created a course just for professionals to help you engage with parents. Access the course here.
Our CEO Vicki Shotbolt takes parents through essential information and advice to help children and young people stay safe and feel confident in the online world.
The course has four modules which parents can take at any time, and as many times as they want.
It comprises four films and associated reading materials, and takes under 20 minutes to do in total.
This course provides a great introduction to online risks, risky spaces online, tools and controls and confident digital parenting and is suitable for parents with children of all ages.
Exclusive to Digital Safety members, this easy-to-follow programme is in three short episodes and offers parents advice on the following topics:
• Children’s online world.
• The Bad Stuff – including online extremism and how radicalisation happens.
• How to use their offline parenting skills to help their child stay safe online.
Resilient Families is available in English, Urdu and Somali and is suitable for all parents, particularly for those with older children who are exploring their identity and looking for answers online.
Reaching Parents is exclusively available to Parent Zone members.
It is designed to help professionals effectively engage with parents and carers on all of the issues amplified by the internet.
Following on from the success of our face-to-face training, Reaching Parents distills the key learnings of our approach to effective parental engagement into four short modules, which can be viewed as many times as you like. They should take no more than 20 minutes to watch in total.
