The Tech Shock podcast – sharenting

‘Sharenting’ is a combination of the words sharing and parenting. It’s the act of parents sharing information – photos, videos, or insight into daily life – about their children online.

As ‘parent influencer’ accounts become increasingly popular (and worth more money) children could be expected to play bigger roles when it comes to making popular content.

In this week's episode of the Tech Shock podcast, Vicki and Geraldine are joined by sharenting expert and lawyer Claire Bessant. They look at the topics of data and privacy and the pros and cons of posting about your children online.

The group also discusses the conflict between sharenting and children’s best interests, as well as what consent might look like between parent and child.
