FAQs

What does Parent Zone do?

Parent Zone works to improve outcomes for children in the digital world. Sitting at the heart of digital family life, we offer free services and resources to parents and families, and to the professionals who work with them. We work locally, nationally and internationally, partnering with everyone from individual schools and local authorities to government departments and global tech firms. We undertake independent research into the effects of digital on family life, and consult with government on new legislation and initiatives that have the potential to affect our work and mission. Why does Parent Zone focus on parents?

We focus on parents and carers because of the huge impact parenting has on children’s outcomes - second only to poverty. By building parents’ and carers’ confidence in their skills and knowledge, we help them help their children explore the opportunities offered by the online world while also being able to identify and avoid potential pitfalls. You can find out more about how we support parents here.

We also work with trusted professionals, such as teachers, to whom parents turn for advice, as well as with tech companies and with policymakers - working together to find ways to help children make the most of digital technologies.

Why does Parent Zone work with partners?

We work with like-minded partners to allow us to operate at the scale required to achieve our mission. Our partners help us reach parents, professionals, policymakers and tech companies, and support us to work collaboratively to help children make the most of the opportunities available to them in the digital world.
