Tech Shock returns for its eighth season and Vicki and Geraldine are joined by Julian McDougall, Professor of Media and Education at Bournemouth University.

Disinformation is something we all encounter when online. With elections looming, false or misleading content and information are only likely to increase in volume. 

Media literacy – the ability to assess and access media, and to think critically about it – is one way to tackle some of the risks and harms tied to disinformation. 

In this episode of Tech Shock, Julian McDougall joins us to unpack media literacy and ask why, when it gets so much support in policy spheres, media literacy has so little presence in mainstream education.
