Parent Zone is devoted to providing expert information to families, schools and family professionals. We create, curate and check the best available advice and information on all of the issues that are caused or amplified by the internet.
Our mission is to improve outcomes for children in a digital world so:
Children will be safer online.
Children will be resilient enough to cope with the challenges of the online world.
Children will be educated for a digital future.
What do we do?
Parents: we offer information to help you understand the digital world and raise resilient children. Our services include Parent Info, Vodafone Digital Parenting magazine and the Parent Lounge, which gives access to our Parenting in the Digital Age training course.
Schools: Parent Zone Digital Schools membership will help your school keep children safe, support resilience and educate them for a digital future.
As well as Digital Schools membership, we produce Parent Info (articles and advice for parents to run on your own school website), and in-school training sessions.
Local Authorities: Parent Zone Digital Resilience membership will help you support and work effectively with the parents in your community on all of the issues amplified by the internet.
Industry: Our Parent Zone Family Champion award encourages companies to develop great online spaces and services for children. We also partner with leading industry and national figures, including Vodafone, Google, Virgin Media, the Home Office and the National Crime Agency’s CEOP command, to help deliver these aims.
What is Parent Zone?
Parent Zone is a social enterprise. To misquote Ginger Rogers, that means we do everything a charity does, except we do it backwards and in high heels.
We receive no core funding and any income we generate has to cover the cost of running projects and generate enough profit to run our operation, and the free services we offer to parents.
If we do end a year with a surplus, we are required (by virtue of our governing documents) to invest that surplus in projects that support families and parents.
We’re a small, talented, forward-thinking team from a range of backgrounds - parenting organisations, children’s charities, education, communications and tech companies.
We’re experts on parenting and families, backed up by years of combined professional experience and research.
