The message in the 2025 curriculum review was clear: schools need to respond to modern realities and provide children with an education that reflects their needs. Children are growing up immersed in online spaces, games, messaging groups and social media. AI tools are the norm, not an emerging novelty.
The review acknowledges that young people need specific skills. Not just in coding or using software but in citizenship too. In understanding, evaluating, and interacting responsibly with media and AI. For schools, the challenge now is in how to teach them.
