Parent Zone is devoted to providing expert information to families and schools. We find, curate and check the best available information on all of the issues that are caused or amplified by the internet.
The Parent Zone mission
To improve outcomes for children in a digital world.
- Children will be safer online.
- Children will be resilient enough to cope with the challenges of the online world.
- Children will be educated for a digital future.
To work with the people and organisations that can deliver those outcomes:
How we can help
Parents: we offer information to help you understand the digital world and raise resilient children.
Our products include Parent Info (ParentInfo.org), Vodafone Digital Parenting magazine, and our parenting courses. (Find out more about this here.)
Schools: Parent Zone Digital Schools membership will help your school keep children safe, support resilience and educate them for a digital future.
As well as Digital Schools membership, we produce Parent Info (articles and advice for parents to run on your own school website), and in-school training sessions.
Companies: Our Parent Zone Family Champion award encourages companies to develop great online spaces and services for children.
To qualify as a Parent Zone Family Champion you must deliver innovative projects for children and parents that help them make the most of the digital world. Find out more here.
In the last few years we have partnered with major companies and organisations, including Vodafone, Google, Virgin Media, the Home Office and the National Crime Agency’s CEOP command, to help deliver these aims.
Parent Zone is a social enterprise. To misquote Ginger Rogers, that means we do everything a charity does, except we do it backwards and in high heels.
We receive no core funding and any income we generate has to cover the cost of running projects and generate enough profit to run our operation, and the free services we offer to parents.
If we do end a year with a surplus, we are required (by virtue of our governing documents) to invest that surplus in projects that support families and parents.
We’re a small, talented, forward-thinking team from a range of backgrounds - parenting organisations, children’s charities, education, communications and tech companies. We’re experts on parenting and families, backed up by years of combined professional experience and research. Find out who we are here.
